With no official pre-order or official announcement, the HTC One M8 is now available to purchase at T-Mobile’s website. It is only available in gunmetal grey, but you do get the bonus of it coming with 32GB internal storage instead of 16GB. Full price of the device is $636, or you can pay $26.50 for 24 months.

While I would normally advise to purchase phones outright directly from the manufacturer, I am not sure I can do that for a T-Mobile customer looking for the HTC One M8.

If you buy the unlocked or developer edition directly from HTC, it is simply an unbranded AT&T variant of the M8, meaning it is missing AWS bands. This means no 3G unless you are in a re-farmed area. This will be a non-factor sometime in 2015 when T-Mobile completes their upgrade, but if you currently live in an area that has not been upgraded, this is will be important to you. Unless you like Edge data.

Then there is the issue of price. Buying straight from HTC is $699, yet T-Mobile is selling the M8 for $636.

Bloat. Most of us hate bloat, but T-Mobile adds one necessary app for some of us: Wi-Fi Calling. Either way, there is already a huge developer following, so you can remove what ever bloat you do not want easily.

So if you want to save a few bucks, need full 3G compatibility, or simply want to pay monthly, head on over to the link below or your closest T-Mobile store and pick up your HTC One M8.

Jcase and beaups have done it again! The fruit of last night’s labor is WeakSauce, a root method for Verizon’s HTC One (m8) and HTC One (m7). The exploit gets write access to system/xbin and installs a su binary which then allows you to install Superuser or SuperSU for root access. For the HTC One (m8), you will need to keep WeakSauce installed to retain root between reboots. You can take this a step further with the HTC One (m7) and use Firewater after WeakSauce to unlock the bootloader and S-OFF for full access to your phone and permanent root.

Yet another leak about the 2014 HTC One has just surfaced, and it confirms the presence of multiple gestures to wake up the device. The leak is of a Sense 6 build running on the OG HTC One, which was originally posted on Reddit.

Appart from the normal double tap to wake, the new build features the following gestures.

Swipe left to wake up device and go to widget panel.

Swipe right to wake up device and go to Blink feed.

Swipe up to wake up phone and unlock it.

Pick up phone and press volume rocker to open the camera app.

Take phone to your ear while it rings to pick up the call.

All these features are part of the Motion Launch and seems to be the only new feature worth noting at this point. A flash-able build for HTC One owners is expected in the following weeks.

A search of Twitter mentions regarding this seems to point to a connectivity problem, although some reboots were brought up as well. For our UK readers, have you already received the update and what issues are you seeing?

We at Android Fan Network try to stay away from rumors, leaks or anything that could possibly not be true. But…

This official video by HTC is neither rumor or leak. This is HTC saying the New HTC One is going to have an even more kick ass metal build than the OG HTC One. The HTC One and HTC One Max are, without a doubt, one of the sexiest phones available with that unibody metal build and front facing BoomSound speakers. (Other OEM’S! Take a good look at those front facing speakers this year, they are that good.) Holding the first HTC One is a pleasure and your hands tell your brain right away you’re holding a premium device. Then once you power it up, you’re absolutely positive you’re holding a premium device. How HTC is going to top the first one will be a tough, but they’re claiming in the above video, they’ve done just that.

Who’s looking forward to the launch of the new HTC One on March 25th? I sure as Hell know I am. I’m also very curious what the official name for this device will be. The HTC One+, The HTC Two, The New HTC One or HTC Death Metal. They’ve mucked up names of devices in the past and this will be interesting to see the “real” name (besides the M8).

And this is just two things I sincerely hope happen.

Number 1 – Ain’t gonna happen, but I hope the New HTC One kills the Galaxy S5 in sales.

Number 2 – I pray to my God every night HTC makes the next Nexus tablet. Whether it be the Nexus 7 2014, Nexus 8 or the new Nexus 10.

Amen!

Last but not least, both the T-Mobile and AT&T HTC One Android 4.4.2 updates received carrier approval, wrapping up this round of US HTC One updates. HTC’s Mohammad Versi took to Twitter and shared the good news for T-Mobile owners yesterday, followed up with AT&T news less than an hour later

These updates bring the HTC One to Sense 5.5 and Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat. The T-Mobile HTC One is receiving build 4.19.531.10 which is a 563.3MB OTA and started pushing out within an hour of announcement, while the AT&T OTA still remains “soon” and should be provisioned to push out for all handsets in the next few days.

Have you gotten the update? Let us know how you like it in the comments!

The KitKat updates for all kinds of devices from all kinds of carriers are starting to pop up left and right here folks! Big Red is getting in on the fun with one of their flagship devices, the Verizon HTC One. Verizon has been surprising me lately with their timely updates, and I applaud them for that. With the M8 in the foreseeable future, it wouldn’t have surprised me to see feet dragging on Android version updates for the M7 HTC One. However, the HTC One is such an epic device with more than capable specs for these updates, we can only hope they continue.

With this KitKat update, you can expect to see small visual changes to the way BlinkFeed works, as well as redesigns in the Settings, Gallery, and Music apps as well as the lockscreen. You’ll also notice some Verizon specific changes to low light photography and power management adjustments.

If you’re not seeing an update message up in your status bar, I suggest you hit the settings, and mash that system updates button. It’s on its way and will be on your Verizon HTC One any second now.

Let us know in the comments of any other changes you may have noticed that we haven’t mentioned above. Happy KitKat for you loyal Verizon HTC One owners. We all know it’s been a bumpy ride since jump street
