The HTC One developer edition has been delayed, HTC had put up the Developer edition (bootloader unlocked) for pre-order on 3rd April 2013.
This morning a lot of people who ordered the developer edition started receiving the below email:-
We have an important update about your order. Due to shipping issues with the 32G unlocked and 64G Developers Editions of the New HTC One®, there will be a slight delay in shipping your HTC One® to you. We expect to have your phone delivered to you, via overnight shipping, before the end of April. We’ll do everything we can to get it shipped to you as soon as possible.
We understand the excitement and anticipation that comes with a new phone, and we are confident that the HTC One® will exceed that anticipation.

It looks like HTC has hit a road bump with the supply of the HTC One Developer edition and hence orders are being delayed, there will be a lot of people out there who will not be happy with this especially the peeps who ordered on 3rd April 2013. Let’s hope this does not turn into an ordering fiasco similar to what happened when the Nexus 4 was launched on Google Play.
