Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Rooted 7

Samsung’s latest tablet, the Galaxy Note 8.0 has been rooted. The root method does not require Odin, infact it is done through an app.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Here are the instructions on how to root your Galaxy Note 8.0:-

  1. Download the Framaroot app from here.
  2. Install the app on your Galaxy Note 8.0 and then run it.
  3. Once the app opens use select the Aragon method and you should be rooted

As always do not accept any OTA’s if you want to remain rooted as the exploit may not work on the update.

    What are OTA’s?

      Hello Alex,
OTA’s over the air firmware updates which are sent by either the carrier or the manufacturer of the device.

So it’s just device updates, not App updates? I have just converted to Android and am new to the whole rooting thing. I want to root the 8 for multiwindow stuff. Does it also let you remove bloatware apps or install apps directly to the external SD card? Thanks for the answers BTW.

Yes, that is correct, it’s only device firmware updates and not app updates. Rooting will allow you to remove bloatware. Not sure on moving apps to external sd part as devices now have large enough internal memory so haven’t used that in a while :) . Also, welcome to the world of Droid Alex, I am pretty sure you’ll like it.

Thanks. Had the nexus 7 for a while but sold it. I have loved this one. 8 inches hits the sweet spot and it’s okay for games. I will root it and if I have any more questions, you will hear from me.
