Chromecast is getting it’s first OTA update, it’s just a bug fix and improves performance, reliability and security. There is no changelog and we do not know if root has been blocked on the update or not but we will keep you posted.
Today, we are pushing a bug fix update to Chromecast devices to improve performance, reliability and security. The update will roll out over the next few days and will happen automatically; users do not need to take any action.
Update
The new update’s build number is 12840 whereas the old one is 12072.
