Samsung ships 20 million Samsung Galaxy S4′s

In just a little over 2 months 20 million Galaxy S4′s shipped

Say what you want about Samsung’s over the top marketing. Call it gimmicky, weird, or you can call it smart.  These guys know how to make and sell devices. Blackberry really needs to take a few pages from Samsung’s marketing Playbook.  Just to put this in perspective, it took the Galaxy SIII 100 days to sell 20 million units.  Keep in mind folks, Verizon just recently got their paws on the Galaxy S4. It will be interesting to see how many S4′s will ship at the 100 day mark.

Real quick rant and a story for another blog. I went to the local Verizon store to play with a Blackberry Z10.  They only had a dummy Z10 unit on display, so I asked the Verizon sales rep if he had one out back that I could look at. I’m going to quote him here word for word (I kind of know this guy, he’s a customer at the restaurant I own).  “Dave, don’t even waste your time with that piece of junk Z10.  We don’t keep the Z10 in stock anymore, so I don’t even have a unit out back for you to play with.  I’ve been working at this store since the Z10 was launched and have only sold one.  Its a weird and confusing phone to use”.   He also told me that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 had a 10 megapixel camera and that’s the phone I should get.  He doesn’t know about my little Android hobbie I guess. Like I said, this is for another story, but Blackberry, see those numbers Samsung is bragging about?  You better get your shit together on the marketing front or you’ll be in 5th place behind dumb flip phones (if you’re not already).
