Qualcomm Announces Snapdragon 410 Chipset With 64 Bit Processing and 4G LTE

Qualcomm unveiled their Snapdragon 410 chipset with integrated 4G LTE World Mode. This is the first chipset from Qualcomm capable of 64 bit processing. The new Snapdragon 410 chipsets will be manufactured using 28nm process technology and use the Adreno 306 GPU to support 1080p video playback and up to a 13 Megapixel camera.

Snapdragon 410 chipsets are being poised to address the need of emerging regions like China that are currently building 4G LTE infrastructure. Here is official word from Jeff Lorbeck, senior vice president and chief operating officer, Qualcomm Technologies, China.

“We are excited to bring 4G LTE to highly affordable smartphones at a sub $150 ( ̴ 1,000 RMB) price point with the introduction of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, The Snapdragon 410 chipset will also be the first of many 64-bit capable processors as Qualcomm Technologies helps lead the transition of the mobile ecosystem to 64-bit processing.”

The chipset also features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, and supports dual/Triple SIM. It also supports all major operating systems including Android, Windows Phone and Firefox.
