Android Device Manager just went live, the service allows you to locate your Android device and also wipe it remotely. The location services are enabled by default but to remote wipe your device you need to enable it on the device itself first.
To enable Erase Device, you must enable factory reset on your device. To do so, open the Google Settings app on your device and click the checkbox within Android Device Manager.
