Team U.S. Cellular and XDA members droidroidz and shabbypenguin, developers for the Sprint Galaxy S4, the SPH-L720, have confirmed the U.S. Cellular branded Samsung Galaxy S4 also has unlocked bootloader. The two have successfully flashed the Sprint model’s CWM recovery and plan to follow-up with a U.S. Cellular version to fix some errors.
To date, the AT&T model has been confirmed to ship with a locked bootloader and also additional security checks of boot and recovery partitions. Verizon will like continue their locked bootloader policy with the S4. The addition of U.S. Cellular to the unlocked list makes things a bit more hopeful for those waiting to hear about the T-Mobile Galaxy S4’s status.

Update: T-Mobile’s bootloader has been confirmed to come unlocked. That just leaves Verizon so don’t expect any surprises.
