The octa-core Samsung Exynos 5 powered devices do not use all 8 cores at the same time right now, right now either four high-power cores for are used intense tasks or four low-power cores for basic functions.
Well Samsung today announced a new technology “Heterogeneous Multi-Processing” (or HMP) which will allow use of all eight cores in the processor at once. Samsung will enable the HMP solution for its Exynos 5 Octa in Q4 2013.
