Jason Mackenzie, president of HTC America has tweeted on Android 4.3 update plans for yesteryear’s HTC flagship mobile with Sprint – EVo 4g LTE. In a reply to an user who posed a question on update for EVO 4G LTE, he said that it will receive Android 4.3 update which also includes Sense 5 UI. This update is supposed to be pushed out by the end of the year.

EVO 4G LTE is currently running Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean) with HTC Sense 4+ and the last update it received was on 1/31/13 ( software version 3.16.651.3 ) and really waiting for an update to Android 4.2 or later.  Sprint variant of current flagship HTC One already received Android 4.3 update.

Good news for HTC One X+ users in India waiting for Android 4.2.2 JellyBean.  HTC started rolling out an OTA( Over -the -Air ) update including Android 4.2.2 JellyBean and Sense 5 to HTC One X+. Update is about 408.79 MB in size and firmware number is 2.18.707.5

Some news for HTC Butterfly owners who are patiently waiting for Android 4.2.2 update. HTC India tweeted that Butterfly is receiving Android 4.2.2 JellyBean which includes Sense UI upgrade to 5.0.

HTC Butterfly received 4.2.2 JellyBean update only in few countries like Taiwan until now and it looks HTC is rolling the update in other markets too. HTC India says that announcement for other devices will come soon.

Verizon just detailed the Sense 5 update for the HTC Droid DNA on it’s website. Yes peeps, Sense 5 is coming to HTC Droid DNA officially. The most wanted feature from Sense 5 is Blinkfeed which will be part of the update. No word on if it will Android 4.2.2 or Android 4.3 and when it will be released but we shall keep you posted.

Android 4.3 with Sense 5 is coming to HTC One today. LlabTooFeR, developer of Maximus HD ROM for HTC One tweeted that new version of Maximus HD ROM ( 12.0.0 ) based on Android 4.3 JellyBean and Sense 5 UI will be released today at 10:00 AM GMT ( 05:00 AM EST ).

This ROM might be based on Android 4.3 firmware which could be testing phase. There are no details on firmware number or change log yet. Wait for download link to come up and you may check Maximus HD ROM thread at XDA here for more updates.

Good news for HTC One X users waiting for Android 4.2.2 update.  Multiple users ( from European countries like Slovakia & Bulgaria ) at XDA are reporting that they received Android 4.2.2 JellyBean update for their HTC One X.  This update includes important enhancements and bug fixes and users who already updated are claiming that phone is flying after the update.

The AT&T HTC One Mini has leaked in all glory just hours before release. The guys over at AndroidPolice got leaked pictures via an anonymous tipster.  The AT&T HTC One Mini is running Sense 5 along with Android 4.2.2 and has LTE connecctivity.

Below are the leaked specifications of the AT&T HTC One Mini:-

• dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor
• 1GB of RAM
• 16GB of internal storage

XDA’s Recognized developer JoelZ9614 is at it again!  Keeping an older device (in Android Years) up to date.

If you ask me, which I know you are because I know everything, just ask my wife. The HTC Droid DNA will get the Sense 5 and Android version 4.2.2 update.  When will that be?  Who the hell knows with Verizon (guess I don’t know everything)!?  Them crafty little devils over at XDA won’t let Verizon stand in their way. They rarely do.

I’ve been keeping an eye on this port for the past couple days and this is what I know about it in a nutshell.  For now, this ROM will not work for Verizon (CDMA) users, but reception and data are working for GSM users.  Some GSM users that flashed the ROM have said they have absolutely zero issues with the ROM and claim it to be a daily driver, while others are saying they’re getting the occasional reboot and other minor bugs. If I were on GSM, I’d be all over this ROM!

My Droid DNA is currently running XDA Recognized Developer newtorrot’s HTC One rom port with Sense 5 and Android version 4.1.2 (quick glimpse can be found here)  for the past few weeks and I haven’t had a single bug or issue with it yet.  Ports can be daily drivers.

So, if you like tinkering and keeping the latest versions of Android and Sense, I’d head on over to XDA and get your flash on. If tinkering under the hood of your phone isn’t your thing, like I said, Sense 5 and 4.2.2 will make it to your Precious.  The HTC Butterfly (The Droid DNA’s twin brother) has gotten an update, but then again the Butterfly isn’t affiliated with Big Red.

BTW. I’m not sure if JoelZ9614 is pulling our leg, but he claims to be 16. I was flashing this guys Roms back in the HTC Evo 3D days. That was 2 years ago and if my math is correct…. that would have made him 14 years old cranking out Roms for the 3D.

Not sure if that means now “it will” work on Verizon or now “I will” work on Verizon. Keep an eye on this guy’s (or kid’s) thread because he is an absolute maniac when it comes to knowing his way around Android and creating masterpieces.

HTC One 4.2.2 features

One of this years king of the hill (if not the king) is getting Android version 4.2.2 update around the world.  The update includes just about everything we’ve come to love and enjoy with 4.2.2 and  then some. There’s also been some Sense 5 complaints addressed. You can expect to see -

*  Instagram can be enabled in to Blink Feed

*  Day Dreams screen saver

*  4.2.2 quick settings toggle, which also moved the power saver there

*  lock screen widgets (even if it’s only one)

*  screen shots instantly shareable

* They removed that god awful black bar on the bottom in certain apps and remmapped a long press of the home button

* A swipe up of the Home button to get to Google Now

* They took the few steps it took to change your home dock to one simple step (like most launchers)

* New templates in “video highlights”

I’m sure there’s more, but those are some pretty hefty updates there alone. 4.2.2 is live in parts of Europe and Asia at the moment and shouldn’t be long before we see them here in the states.

4.2.2 and some Sense 5 tweaks made a kick ass phone just that much more kick ass!
