Kernel source code is useful for developers who make custom kernels. However this doesn’t mean everything is ready to build a custom ROM based on Android 4.4 KitKat.

Hit the below link that takes you to Samsung website if you want to download the kernel source. Version number of the source is MKG  and It’s about 399 MB in size.

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 is getting the 4.3 OTA update today that includes Galaxy Gear support. The update is weighing in at 719mb (that’s like 4 typical CyanogenMod ROMS), build number JSS15J.1337UCUEMJ9, brings Android version 4.3, Galaxy Gear support and a new KNOX enterprise security suite.

Just like the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 owners….  Keep mashing that update button.

Android 4.3 update rolling out for US Cellular Galaxy S4

Are you on US cellular and waiting for Android 4.3 JellyBean update on your Galaxy S ? The it’s time to check for system update. AndroidPolice obtained a leaked document which shows Android 4.3 update ( listed as Samsung FOTA update in above image ) rollout will start from today, Novermer 8th at 8 AM CST.

Leaked document shows the build number as R970TYURMJA for  R970, model number of Samsung Galaxy S4 on US Cellular. This update is supposed to include many features like

Galaxy Gear Smartwatch Support
Performance improvements
Display Quality
New Touchwiz and Camera features
KNOX support

According to Sammobile, update started rolling out and some users confirmed the same build number shown is leaked document. Update will be rolled out in phases and all Galaxy S4 users on US Cellular should receive the update in coming few days.

The peeps over at sammobile have leaked another build of Android 4.3 for the Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505, the build number on this one is I9505XXUEMJ3. As per sammobile this is one of the final builds and after testing it for 2 days they haven’t found any bugs on this build as well. Also, Samsung should start rolling out Android 4.3 for the Galaxy S4 (i9505 & i9500) within the next 1-2 weeks.

The build date on this build is 8 Oct 2013 and it won’t trip your Knox warranty flag or increase the flash counter so feel free to try it.

Android 4.3 system dump for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 (M919) has been leaked online. The system dump is now available for download, this is a system dump so you cannot flash it but some skilled developers can of course make it into a flashable zip.

Well, much of Apple Iphone 5s success is attributed to Gold colored edition. To counter that ,Samsung is introducing new Gold edition of Galaxy S4, its latest flagship Android smartphone.

Gold edition of Galaxy S4 will come in two colors, Gold Pink or Gold Brown as per photo posted by Samsung Mobile Gulf on its facebook page. Samsung Mobile Arabia also tweeted “We offer you the new Golden Galaxy S4, the style befitting your own.” along with below image depicting Gold Pink colored Galaxy S4.

There is no word on launch date or availability yet. Hit the comments section and let us know how do you like these two new Gold colored variants of Galaxy S4.

Flashaholics we have some good news for you, you can now dual boot your Samsung Galaxy S4 (with triple boot coming soon). As of now it’s only possible for Qualcomm based Samsung Galaxy S4 which means it will work on the i9505, US & Canadian Samsung Galaxy S4. I just dual booted by T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 and right now am running MIUI as my primary and Task650′s AOKP as my secondary. User installed apps and data is not shared between the 2 roms.

Below are the roms, kernels and gapps supported as of now:-

ROMs:

• CyanogenMod and CyanogenMod-based ROMs
• Task650′s AOKP
• PAC-Man
• Google Edition (MaKTaiL)
• ParanoidAndroid (Vertigo, most likely other versions too)

From a marketing standpoint, iFrogz, which is a Zagg Brand, puts forth a great deal of effort to display their products with the packaging, engraved logo and quality of product from their great line of Samsung Galaxy S4 cases and the Cocoon case is no exception.

iFrogz has displayed their attention to detail in the design of  this case.  The most noticeable about the Cocoon case is that it has smooth rounded cutouts for camera and speakers on the back of case and notched cutouts top and bottom.  The case also has intricate grooves and vibrant blue color making it very appealing to the eyes and makes it really stand out.  This Cocoon case truly reflects its name with the look and feel and the way it really wraps itself around the phone.

The Good:

After a thorough overview, I consider this case to be a high-quality case made from ultra-tough materials and offers a nice look and good impact protection with the rugged dual layer design with a silicone interior and tough exterior shell.  The Cocoon case grabs the S4 and fits securely and should absorb most light impact from drops and dings. The Edge around the screen should protect the screen if placed on flat surface and light impact.  The case design also gives you comfort in knowing that it also allows access to all ports, inputs, and sensors.

The Bad:

I can’t say anything bad about this case other than it takes away from the ultra slim design of the GS4 but if you want to protect your phone you have to overlook this non slim design feature.

The not so Ugly:

The Cocoon has a matte finish and not too grippy.  For many devices, a bulky case design sometimes needs to be constructed for better overall protection of your device.  This case sells at a mid range price of $29.99 and worth the price.

Summary:

Just hours before the official announcement of the LG G2 we have pictures of it posing alongside the Samsung Galaxy S4. Remove the LG logo from the G2 and you will say these are 2 Samsung phones, but it ain’t so.

At 5.2″ the G2 doesn’t seem too big and could be a very popular phone. Let’s hope LG does things the right way and prices it competitively.
