If you have problems keeping up with the numerous variants of each phone and tablet that Samsung offers, then just close this article now. Samsung announced an educational variant of the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. It is officially called the Galaxy Tab for Education. It is a Galaxy Tab 3 10.1, but with integrated Google Play for Education. This will allow access to only approved content in the Play Store, a must for schools.

This will put Google and Samsung into school systems, which is obviously great for both. Schools are a new and very open market, and the possibilities are endless. Google’s Play Store is full of content that every school needs: books, music, videos, and interactive apps. Schools are already spending money on this media, just not with Samsung or Google – at least not yet.

Not sure if you want to shell out, what is to be expected, a rather high cost? Check out our synopsis of the new Note Pro here. Having great productivity capabilities alongside a truly astonishing display does stack up to what could be a remarkable tablet.
Have you recently bought a Note 3 or were thinking about purchasing one? Does the news of the update to Android 4.4 breaking the usability of some 3rd party accessories like cases have you thinking twice now?

It seems that an update to Android 4.4 has disabled some 3rd party accessories ability to function correctly with your Note 3. Don’t fret, Samsung had this to say:

We have currently identified a software compatibility issue with the Galaxy Note 3 update to Android 4.4 (KitKat) and select 3rd party accessories. A software update will be available shortly. We are committed to offering a diverse and reliable mobile experience for all customers, providing continued support and solutions for any issues that arise with product updates for both Samsung manufactured and third-party accessories.

Steadfast patience will see you through this one, just relax, and Samsung will get a fix out to the lot of you. I know I would be raising hell as most of you probably have been too, but fear not – things will be fixed, and all shall be right with the world. Well at least you’ll be able to use your nice new Spigen S-View case again.

Own an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 and jealous of all of the KitKat updates flying out to other devices? Well, get your flashing pants on and head over to XDA. Designgears has you covered with a leaked version of KitKat 4.4.2 designed for the AT&T variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-i337. As always, read, read, and read again before doing anything. If you do not understand what you are reading, stop as this is not meant for you until you fully understand. You will lose root, and there is a random reboot issue, but who cares when you get KitKat?

Head to the link below for all of the fun stuff and get some KitKat.

OmniROM has added official nightlies for the Galaxy Nexus GSM, courtesy of XDA Senior Member Grarak for contributing his source and OmniROM community member Jiangyi for testing and bringing up the GNex to an official status.

Aside from the Grand Daddy of the series, the Nexus One, the Galaxy Nexus is one of my favorite handsets in the family. It doesn’t have a monster screen size that borders on unmanageable, the OMAP 4460 proved to be quite capable, and there continues to be a flurry of development for our trusted Maguro.

It is great to see the Galaxy Nexus GSM getting love from a new ROM team, and it’s even better to see it brought up to the current version of Android KitKat, which was passed over on this device by Google after Jelly Bean.

OmniROM has all sorts of goodies built in, like multiwindow, so this is definitely worth checking out if you still rock the GNex. Hit this link to the OmniROM downloads for the Galaxy Nexus GSM.

Firstly is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3-Kids Edition

This is quite the nifty little tablet and possibly the most popular choice for parents. Quick specs are:

Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS

Samsung Marvell PXA270 1.2 GHz Processor

8 GB ROM Memory, 1 GB RAM Memory

Pre-loaded with children’s applications including games, camera, paint tools and more

Standard mode offers features of regular Galaxy Tab 3

It has a nice array of children based apps including games, paint and other assorted programs.

Next up is the Nexus 7- 2013 model

If it’s stock Google you want with no added frills like the Samsung, then the Nexus 7 would be your best bet.

A very tried and true tablet, this should probably be at the top of everyone’s list if you look for nothing more than a straight tablet.

Android 4.4

7.02″ 1920×1200 HD display (323 ppi)

Scratch-resistant Corning® glass

1.2MP front facing, fixed focus

5MP rear facing, auto focus

Bluetooth 4.0

3,950 mAH (Up to 9 hours of active use)

Wireless Charging built-in (Qi compatible)

Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S4 Pro, 1.5GHz

Next one is a bit of a shocker, mainly because not any of you may have heard of, is the Blu Life View Tab.

We did a write on this tablet, and from what we’ve read so far, it seems to be a nice tablet for its’ price point. There are, I’m sure, many more tablets out there that are worth looking into. This is my personal top list and obviously there will be those that don’t agree with me.

Android v4.2 Jelly Bean

3G data connection

8.0 inch HD 768 x 1024, Scratch Resistant Touch Panel

Well, that did not take too long. The test firmware was just leaked yesterday, but today Samsung is pushing out Kit Kat 4.4.2 to the Galaxy Note 3 (SM-9005) in Poland. It is build number N9005XXUENA6, the same that was leaked yesterday. Before those of us in the US get too excited, remember that Samsung still has to build one for each carrier, then each carrier has to approve it, so we are still going to be waiting for a little bit longer here.

To me, the best news about all of this is the slight UI refresh that comes with this build. Love it or hate it, TouchWiz has looked the same for a long time now, and even a small refresh of the notification bar is very welcome. Samsung’s hardware is always bleeding edge, so it is nice to see some of the icons and software start to catch up to Kit Kat’s design. Check out some of the screen shots below.

Although the Samsung Galaxy S4 has been an overwhelming success when you look at sales numbers, Samsung has admitted that it did not meet their own expectations. That does not mean they have abandoned it though, as SAMMOBILE got their hands on test firmware I9505XXUFNA1. This is Kit Kat 4.4.2 and is meant for the European Galaxy S4, GT-i9505. It is a good sign seeing it now, because that means U.S. carrier versions should not be too far behind.

Samsung will have to hurry, because Motorola and HTC are way ahead of them in releasing Kit Kat to their flagship devices. Don’t forget U.S. Galaxy S4 owners will still need to add in some time for the carriers to drag their feet before they can enjoy Kit Kat. Still, this does make for just about all of the major Android manufacturers pushing out the latest Android version rather quickly compared to prior years, which is good for everyone.

Head to the link below for detailed instructions on how to load this if you are lucky enough to have the GT-i9505 version of the Galaxy S4.
