Back in February, HTC stepped up to the plate and promised to keep flagship devices up to date with the latest software for two years. Since then, they have been very open with where software updates stood via social media. Now they have started a page where you can see the status of software updates at any time. HTC categorizes the software into the following five stages:
- Evaluation
- Development
- Integration
- Certification
- Push to Customer
It is a simple, yet useful page. We now have one place to look for any phone on any carrier(in the US) to see how soon we will be getting the latest version of Android or Sense. Combine this with the other benefits from HTC Advantage and HTC looks like the manufacturer that will be getting money from me going forward. Does this help sway you at all?
