16 Things you didn’t know about your HTC One

HTC-ProductDetail-overview

HTC One is the latest flagship Android Smartphone from HTC. It packs powerful hardware with impressive software features. Without any doubt I can say that it is one of best ( if not the best) smartphones out there.

Here is a list of features/things about HTC One that you probably don’t know about.

1. Swype can be enabled in HTC keyboard through Settings -> Language & Keyboard -> HTC Sense Input -> Mark Trace Keyboard. Trace color can also be set through advanced options.

2. Turning off HTC-gestures through Settings -> Display, gestures &buttons will allow apps to recognize more than 3-point touches.

3. Pinch zoom of messages works in standard messaging app.

4. Bluetooth headset can be used as a remote camera shutter (Double tapping Bluetooth headset with camera on phone active takes a snap – button combination may vary depending on Bluetooth device)

5. In camera app, front to rear camera modes can be switched to and from just by swiping down from the top (landscape)

6. Tapping on the status bar while in the app drawer or blink feed takes you to the top. Same thing can be achieved by hitting back button in Android 4.2.2

7. Tapping on the status bar also works on the music, people, and message app, but in the message app it takes you to the bottom where your latest text is at.

8. Swiping down notification bar with 2 fingers will directly take you to quick settings (Android 4.2.2)

9. Press & Hold Home button can be mapped to menu instead of Google Now through Display, gestures and buttons in Settings. Google Now can be mapped to Swipe up home button. (Android 4.2.2)

10. Swiping up anywhere on lock screen can unlock it, No need to pull up the lock.

11. There is no file size restriction while transferring files to the phone as long as you have enough storage available on phone. Previous generation phones have FAT32 4 GB file restrictions.

12. Swiping with three fingers from left to right on any of sense screen takes to media output.

13. Brightness of torch can also be adjusted using volume rocker.

14. Screenshot of current screen can be taken by holding power button and tapping home key.

15. Using two fingers to scroll does the same thing as grabbing the scroll bar in contacts, call history and messages app.

16. Tapping Contact pictures in call history could be used to access the contact in a mini-popup & to send a text.
