Rant:White Nexus 4 Being Intercepted; Returned to Google

Get ready for some foul language from me today, my order of White Nexus 4 from Google was intercepted and is being returned back to Google. WTF! Seriously, the way Google handles their supply chain sucks and it sucks big time.

I ordered the black Nexus 4 on the day of the launch only to get it after 15 days of ordering, the shipping refund from this came after several calls to Google. 3 days later the speaker on my black Nexus 4 went crazy and I had to order a RMA only to realize that they had no date when the RMA would ship. My credit card was charged for the RMA and the replacement device shipped a week later. So, I had to spend a week with a phone which had a borked speaker.

And now the White Nexus has been intercepted, what do you mean Google, at least drop me an email and let me know what’s wrong, my credit card has already been charged. If you expect me to call you and ask, I ain’t gonna do that this time. Your customer service representatives do not know anything about why the White Nexus 4 are being intercepted. They are clueless and are giving false information or forwarding to a Google specialist who I am pretty sure do not exist.

Even if this is some kind of mistake on part of UPS all you need to do is inform us, here I am all excited to play with my White Nexus 4 in the evening and you intercept it. All, your customers are looking for is communication and information from you which you do not seem to care about. I am glad you do not have physical stores because if you had the people working there would have a tough time answering a lot of unhappy peeps today.

Now, I was happy that the Play Store did not go down this time around, but this, this is totally not acceptable from a company which wants to compete with Apple. You need to get your game up Google, you suck at customer service and product launches. Take heed from Apple on that.

PS: If you are interested in reading about the Nexus 4 launch day ordering mess from Google read this thread on xda, yes it’s more than 4000 pages of frustration from people in limbo and no satisfactory answer from Google till date.

Google Play Store is sending below email to people who are contacting them:-

Thank you for contacting Google Play Support!

A small number of customers were sent a ship confirmation with an incorrect tracking number on 5/31 and 6/3. In these cases the incorrect tracking number may indicate that the package is being returned to sender.

Please disregard this tracking number. Another ship confirmation with the correct tracking number will be emailed to you within 24 hrs. Please reference the tracking number in the ‘Thank You’ section of the ship confirmation.

In the event that the package is returned to sender, we will issue you another device once we receive the original device.

Well, the question I have for them is how can tracking information be incorrect if the package was intercepted when it was is in my city? I am pretty sure they are lying about it and not telling the truth as always. Also, if you read the last line you may very well not be receiving your White Nexus 4 until next week.

    yeah those sob’s managed to ship the white nexus to my cousin who ordered the phone 4 days after me and lives 4 blocks away, meanwhile im still phoneless
