AOKP (Android Open Kang Project) Rom is now available for the AT&T Galaxy S4. AT&T Galaxy S4 owners have been waiting for custom roms for quite some time now, but the wait is finally over thanks to Loki from djrbliss.

The installation steps are pretty simple:-

1. Install custom recovery (TWRP or CWM whatever you prefer).
2. Download the rom and gapps from here.
3. Boot into recovery and do a Nandroid
4. Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache, then go into mounts & storage and format system (if using CWM). To format system in TWRP, select Wipe then System
5. Flash ROM and Gapps downloaded in Step 2
6. Reboot and wait for a few minutes, the first boot does take some time

Now AT&T users have the option of installing either ClockworkMod or TWRP; installation of TWRP is as simple as below:-

1) Install GooManager from the Play Store
2) Open GooManager and provide root permissions
3) Hit Menu (or the button with the 3 dots on your screen) and then Install OpenRecovery

To install ClockworkMod you need to be a bit more careful and follow the instructions here.

Custom recoveries i.e. ClockworkMod and TWRP are now available for the Verizon Galaxy S4. Just hours after djrbliss released Loki to bypass the bootloader on the Verizon & AT&T Galaxy S4 custom recoveries showed up on xda for the Verizon Galaxy S4.

TWRP is easier to install as compared to ClockworkMod, below are the instructions for TWRP:-

1) Install GooManager from the Play Store
2) Open GooManager and provide root permissions
3) Hit Menu (or the button with the 3 dots on your screen) and then Install OpenRecovery

For installing the recovery you would need to have Odin installed on your windows machine, the installation instructions are pretty simple if you follow what’s written. Please note this is for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4 only, please do not try to flash it on any other phone.

Once recovery is installed you can flash Chainfire’s Super SU and flash it from recovery to be rooted.

The custom recoveries (ClockworkMod & TWRP) are a work in progress and as per users graphics are off on ClockworkMod, please try at your own risk and neither we nor the developers are responsible for any bricked devices.

How to:-

1) Download the files from here. Another build of ClockworkMod can be found here.
2) Extract Odin3-3.04.zip and copy the tar that you downloaded into the folder
3) Run Odin as an administrator
4) Power your device off
5) Press and hold volume down and power to enter download mode
6) Connect your phone to your computer
7) Wait for drivers to finish installing if they need to be
8) You should see Odin find your device by marking a blue square in the ID COM box
9) Click on PDA and choose the recovery tar you downloaded
10) Click start

Once the file is flashed you should have the recovery you selected installed.

How to Enter recovery:-

1) Power down your device
2) Hold volume up and power to enter recovery
3) Navigate recovery by using the volume keys and power to select

How to Root:-

Download SuperSU and flash from Recovery.

As of now the bootloader of the AT&T version of HTC One is unlockable via htcdev. You have the option of installing either TWRP or ClockworkMod. Installation instructions are pretty simple:-

1. Unlock your bootloader at htcdev
2. Download any of the recoveries you want (TWRP or Clockwordmod)
3. Make sure fastboot is unchecked in power options and turn phone completely off
4. Boot into HBoot mode and then Fastboot
5. From fastboot use the command “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img” , this is considering that the name of the recovery file downloaded is recovery.img, in case it is something else just change the file name in the command, also make sure that the recovery file is in the same folder as the fastboot executable

You should have recovery all installed now. If you want to get root on the stock rom just download either SuperUser or SuperSU and flash in recovery, you should now be rooted.

Thanks to xda member Flyhalf205 we now have custom recoveries available for the HTC First. Of course you need an unlocked bootloader which can be done one htcdev. Once you have unlocked the bootloader you need to boot into fastboot mode and “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img’ should do it for you.
