Review – TYLT VÜ Wireless Charger

The TYLT VÜ Wireless Charger is a very nice Qi charging stand which has a generous 5W power output and a large, forgiving charging area that doesn’t require exact positioning of your device. The VÜ worked with everything I threw at it (with and without cases) including the Nexus 4, 5, and 7, Galaxy S4, and even my trusty HTC ThunderBolt. If it is Qi compatible, then you shouldn’t have issues.

The overall build quality of the VÜ is excellent. Even the retail packaging makes you think quality, and it really shows off the stand. The front side of the stand has an embossed TLYT logo, and the material is a coated plastic that won’t scratch up your phone. They opted for a cheaper feeling black plastic on the back but that isn’t an issue since you’re not going to see it. The AC adapter provided is rated for 100-240Vac, 50/60Hz making it suitable for use in other countries.

The VÜ comes in your choice of gray or lively shades of red, blue, or (lime) green as shown in the video. I like the red one. The price is steep at $69.99, but the higher output, being a stand, and the large Qi area make it a tough decision. I will say, if you can catch these on sale, buy two.

You can find more information and links to purchase at the TYLT website here in the U.S. or at Amazon UK in Europe.

I have the RAVPower wireless charger which impressed me the most by now. I love its design and it has built-in battery so that I am able to charge my non-qi-compatible devices.
