HTC One Google Play Edition Receiving Android 4.4.2 OTA

There are also reports that some HTC One Google Play Edition owners have had update nags in their notification bars prompting them to update to build 3.62.1700.1. If you are one of the quite unfortunate owners suffering from Android 4.4.2 OTA nags (you poor souls),  simply tap on the notification and update your HTC One Google Play Edition to remove it.

If you have not received the update, you can still flash it manually with the stock recovery:

    1. Download the OTA and save to your internal storage
    2. Turn your HTC One off and reboot into bootloader mode by holding Power and Volume Down
    3. Select Recovery by scrolling through the options using Volume keys and press Power to confirm
    4. At the red triangle, press Volume up and Power and you should see the recovery menu
    5. Use the Volume keys again to scroll through the menu to highlight apply update from phone storage and press Power to confirm
    6. Navigate to /0/Download/ and select the OTA file you downloaded:

Let your HTC One do its thing, select reboot and enjoy!

Android 4.4.2 pushing out days after the Nexus family just shows how quickly devices can be updated to the the current version when not held up by the carriers or the OEM’s modifying stock framework files.
