All you need is a minimum 128mb flash drive and a Powered Mini USB OTG Cable which can be bough cheap of ebay.

The exploit writes a new custom /system image onto your Chromecast, well in simple terms it’s a custom firmware. Now that Chromcast has been rooted and we can write a custom firmware we believe the possibilities are endless and we say modified firmwares for the Chromecast as well.

Well in case you have not rooted yet and want to root your Nexus device running Android 4.3 follow the instructions below.

Pre-requiste – You need to have a custom recovery installed, TWRP is preferred for this root method as issues have been reported with CWM.

Download SuperSU by Chainfire

Place the zip in your Nexus device’s internal memory

Reboot into recovery and flash the file and you should have root

If you insist on using CWM then you need to uncheck the option to “disable stock recovery flash” in case it shows up.

Every true football fan knows that Football season is around the corner and its now time to get ready and get all your fantasy teams and leagues created before the start of the season. So for all you die-hard football fans, like me, who not only love to watch you favorite sports team on television every sunday and monday. Then I have the app for you. It’s ESPN fantasy football app. I have been using this app for years. This free application on the the Google Play Store provides great functionalablility to the average user as it provides you with the ability to add players that have not been drafted yet, it also allows to drop a player that have been injured or they are just not working out by not giving you enough points for your team, and you also can trade your players you don’t need with other members in your league. You can see all the latest scores and sports updates through the NFL so you can always stay up to date. You have access to everything in your league like your team standings, scoreboard and more. I like the fact that everything is at your fingertips so you never miss a thing. Check out the sample screen shots below.

What I have noticed from most Android phones is that they require an App in order to be able to take a screenshot of the screen on your phone. That’s not the case with the Samsung Galaxy S4, it’s very simple as you can capture a screenshot easily without any Apps. That’s right… no apps required!! This is now a standard feature on most current versions of Android smartphones. This method makes it really easy and cool.

You are probably asking yourself, why would you need to capture screenshots on your device? It’s as simple as taking the Screenshot. So you can show what is on your screen at any given moment. This gives you control to share what you want whenever you want (not just with photos) with your Android Fans. Have a cool widget, app, or in my case a website that looks really cool and you want to show off. Well you can now simply take a screenshot and send it to fans via email, message or social media apps. I am sure you have a crazy “something” that you want to share with someone that they may have sent you? There are multiple reasons that you may have the desire to do this and now it’s made simple for you.

Just do the following screenshot method for the Samsung Galaxy S4.

1. HOLD down the POWER button and the HOME button at the same time.

Figure 1.0- (androidfannetwork.com)

It is not complicated, really, that’s all you have to do! And now, you too can have a screenshot of your favorite website, to share with Android Fans. You’ll see a message appear on the top of your screen that says “screenshot saved to Camera shots”. With this method, your screenshot will appear in the pictures/screenshots directory. You can also go to your Gallery App to view the screenshots that you have captured. You can then share or save as you see fit. I just happened to share my screenshot to “Dropbox” for safe keeping. Stay posted for more Need to Know tips.

The last few days have been full of news of bootloader unlocks, well today would be no different, the bootloader on the Verizon Note 10.1 has been jailbroken, and you wonder what do we mean by jailbreaking an Android device (more details on that further down the article). Verizon is known for locking bootloaders on it’s devices but it’s always been a cat and mouse game with Android developers.

Thanks to xda developers recognized elite developer Adam Outler the Note 10.1 on Verizon is now a free bird. Please note the process will also install TWRP recovery on your Verzion Note 10.1. Now, coming back to using the term jailbreak, well I’ll have to quote Adam for an answer to that:-

Hey, you can’t jailbreak an Android.. yeah, i know, but “Jailbreak” is a protected act under the USA DMCA Exemption of 2012 and “Unlocking” is illegal without carrier permission. There will be no misunderstandings here.

Here is a video tutorial by Adam himself:-
