Google announced an interesting move today: allowing Play Store purchases from your PayPal account in 12 countries. Prior to this announcement, you would have to set up a Google Wallet account or keep a credit card on file to make any Play Store purchases. PayPal has been around for some time now and is accepted all over the world, so it is a smart move for Google to tap into a pre-existing user base.

Google also announced that they have expanded carrier billing to 7 more countries, bringing the total up to 24. This is a must in some markets and another smart move by Google. After all, why turn away possible revenue? Along those same lines, Google has now brought the total number of countries that can purchase a Google Play gift card to 13.
