Android Distribution Numbers Updated; Jelly Bean Jumps to 60%

android distribution feb 2014

Jelly Bean is now running on 60.7% of active Android devices.

Google has released Android distribution statistics for the month of February 2014. These numbers show growth in devices running Jelly Bean and KitKat. Jelly Bean tops the chart with around 60.7% of active Android devices running it. KitKat has jumped to 1.8% with more devices getting updated.

Please be aware that these numbers are collected based on devices running Android version 2.2 or higher and accessing the Google Play Store app during a 7 day period ending on February 4, 2014.  The devices running Android OS forks that do not have access to Google Play Services do not contribute to this data.

20% of devices are running Gingerbread followed by Ice Cream Sandwich at 16.1%, Froyo at 1.3%, and Honeycomb still lurking at 0.1%. These numbers will change soon, and you can see KitKat’s share increasing, especially when all major OEMs start introducing their new flagship Android devices.
