U.S. HTC One Owners a Step Closer to Enjoying KitKat

Android-KitKat-320

There is some good news for AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon HTC One owners: Android 4.4 KitKat has been released to the carriers for their certification.

If you have not been following the update process outlined by HTC, there is a nice infographic here that explains what is going on. In short, HTC wrapped up their part in adding the carrier requested bloat enhancements, and the new firmware is in the carriers’ hands for their own testing and approval of the final update.

We are all still going to be waiting a while longer, but some carriers have a slightly better track record when it comes to pushing updates through the certification process than others. Based on the color of my socks, I think Verizon is going to be first to get this out the door.

Okay, Magic 8-ball says T-Mobile first, then Sprint, AT&T, and, finally, Verizon. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments!
