The device fits very snug over the Samsung Galaxy S4.  It truly is designed for the GS4.  The body of the Samsung phone is not compromised one bit leaving all the critical volume rocker and power button fully accessible and keeping the Microphone and headphone jack ports free. There is no need to remove original case or battery with this device.  I would describe this device as a dock or cradle that the phone is inserted at the micro USB port and then wrapping the top of the phone with a slight lip.  There is not much that can describe the top down view when phone is inserted other than the device has a notch for the microphone where the case extends at the bottom of the phone which makes it difficult to put the phone in any case or side pouch unless you purchase an oversized case.  Looking at the bottom (Figure1), you have a cut out for the camera and flash that also protects the camera from getting damaged if placed on a flat surface, an on/off power button used to recharge the GS4, holes to allow speakers to not be interfered and 5 blue charging indicator led lights.  When flipped over (Figure 2), you can see the protective black felt, a better view at the speaker output holes, and the Micro USB charging connector.

The Good:

What impresses me most about the rechargeable battery backup is its heavy-duty light weight sleek design.  There is also a soft felt material to protect the phones case from getting scratched when recharging or installing and  removing the recharger and the on/off power button to turn the charger off when phone is fully charged. The Rechargeable battery backup device can be recharged separately or attached to your Samsung Galaxy S4.

The Bad:

The only thing I can see is that there is no screen protection with this version of battery backup from RoHS and it does not come with its own charging cable.

The not so Ugly:

This recharger is a convenient accessory to have with you if you need more than a days’ worth of battery power when you need it most, however, it is not designed to be a permanent case in my mind.

In summary, I would recommend the RoHS Rechargeable Battery backup for anyone looking for a piece of mind if you are on the go and need some extra battery life in a very durable heavy-duty and light weight design that does not compromise the sleekness of the Galaxy S4 that much.  It can be recharged separately and does not interfere with any of the ports on the phone.
