Former HTC executives launch Kazam smartphones featuring Stock Android and free cracked screen replacement

Michael Coombes and James Atkins, Former HTC executives based out of UK started Kazam, a new firm in June 2013 and they announced Kazam’s smartphone product portfolio today.

Kazam is offering 7 smartphones based on stock Android ( Android 4.2 JellyBean at the moment ) divided to two two product lines – THUNDER ( mid end ) and TROOPER ( low end ). Kazam is also offering free replacement of cracked screen within one year of the purchase.

KAZAM THUNDER Series

Thunder series offers two mid end smartphones Thunder Q5.0 and Q4.5. There is no word on specs of Thunder Q5.0 but it should have  5” FWVGA display as the names suggests where as Thunder Q4.5  sports 1.3 GHz Quad Core Processor, 4.5” FWVGA (480 x 854) screen, 8 MP rear and 2 MP front camera, 1800mAh battery, 1GB RAM, 4 GB internal storage and micro SD card slot.

KAZAM TROOPER Series

Trooper Series offers below 5 low to mid end smartphones

Trooper Q3.5 , Q4.0, Q4.5, Q5.0, Q5.5.

They are named after the screen size. other specs include  Dual Core Processor ( 1GHz n Q3.5 and Q4.0 and 1.2 GHz on others), 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal storage with microSD card slot, 5 MP rear camera ( 3.2 MP on Q3.5) and VGA front camera and battery capacity ranging from 1300 mAh to 2500 mAh depending on the screen size.

From the product offering it can be inferred that they are concentrating on mid and low level smartphones running stock Android. There is no word yet on pricing or availability yet.  Hope Kazam launches these devices globally.

It hasn’t been even 24 hours since the Google Edition HTC One started selling on the Play Store and we already have a rom port of the Google Edition HTC One. After the system dump was pulled from the review unit of AndroidCentral the peeps over at xda started working on it and you now have a fully working rom port for your HTC One.

Just to let you know all  HTC One’s are internally the same so we see no reason why this port won’t work on the AT&T and T-Mobile HTC One. Please make sure to have a nandroid in case things go south.

The rumors have been put to rest, the HTC One “AOSP Edition” or “Nexus Experience” is real and it’s coming to the Google Play Store. The Nexus Experience HTC One is coming on June 26th. Mark the date boys and girls, it’s the same date as when the Nexus Experience Galaxy S4 will be available in the play store.

The Nexus Experience HTC One is priced at $599 as compared to $649 for the Nexus Experience Galaxy S4. Add to that fastboot oem unlock will unlock the bootloader on the Nexus Experience HTC One. It looks like the rumors of multiple Nexus devices earlier this year were true.

Rumor has it that HTC One with stock Android is coming by end of summer, these rumors started to pop up after Google announced the Samsung Galaxy S4 “Google Edition” at this years Google I/O. The rumor was squashed by HTC a few days ago, but a well known developer and someone with contacts inside HTC LlabTooFeR has confirmed that HTC is in-fact working on HTC One with no(n)-Sense.

Below are the two tweets which have got the rumor mills running again:-

Let’s hope the rumors are true and HTC being stock Android to the HTC One, our advise to HTC, go the Sony way peeps, instead of selling it as a separate device, just build AOSP (Android Open Source Project) for the HTC One and help the community.
