Other Sony phones the one click root has been tested on are the Xperia Z C6603 & Xperia S LT26. The root method will work on both locked and unlocked bootloaders.

You need to have usb drivers installed, usb debugging and unknown sources enabled. Once usb drivers are installed connect phone to pc and double click the bat file. For more details and download links head over to the original thread at xda.

Sony’s new aluminum frame Xperia SP phone just got a port of ClockworkMod recovery. You do need to have an unlocked bootloader for installing ClockworkMod recovery on your Xperia SP. Here is how to check if the bootloader on your Xperia SP can be unlocked or not:-

  1. In your device, open the dialer and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
  2. Tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes then you can unlock the bootloader on your Xperia SP by following the instructions here.

Once you have unlocked the bootloader you need to go into fastboot mode and flash the kernel, the kernel contains ClockworkMod recovery for Xperia SP.
