So, there’s that fancy update VRUAME7 out there for all you Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 that allows you to move apps to your SD card and a few other goodies.

First, let me tell ya a couple things about this update.

Number one… it’s not an OTA update, so don’t bother going in to you settings and mashing that update button (good one Verizon). It’s only available via the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant by plugging your device in to a PC. Hope this doesn’t become a habit for us Verizon users. This update brings Apps to SD and similar updates that went to the Sprint Galaxy S4 we just wrote about .

Number two….. This update will block any root method and patch any bootloader unlock methods that exisist (thanks again Verizon). If you’re in to root access or flashing all those fun Roms then stay the hell away from this update. It will only be a matter of hours before someone has the updated deodoxed version up with root access over at XDA, if stock root is your thing or apps to SD for that matter.

And last but not least! Keep an eye on Adam Outler and the other devs over at Xda. Adam Outler and Verizon had a fun little game of ping pong going over the Verizon Note 2. The first unlock method created by Outer was called “Suck it Verizon”, Verizon came back and patched his method, Outler then came back at them with another unlock method called “back at ya Verizon” and so on… So watch them crafty fellas over at XDA and the little devils at Verizon.

My advice? Stay the hell away from this update!

Sprints Galaxy S4 gets a hefty 357mb update that brings the much needed apps to SD option.

I would have to say the biggest complaint about the Galaxy S4 is the “actual” internal storage out of the box as apposed to what is advertised. Let’s be honest here, its a completely valid gripe. There’s also the plastic-ky feel and to some the gimicky features. But, some people like that plastic-ky feel and features. They don’t like almost half of their 16 gigs getting eaten up by them features and no where to put some bigger sized games, like Gameloft apps.

Well, good news for you Sprint Galaxy S4 owners out there. There’s an OTA update being pushed out as we speak that brings some pretty cool features on top of the apps to SD option.

Just to name a few of the main features -

* allows apps to your SD card in the same fashion as the European Galaxy S4

* smart pause toggle in the notification panel

* transparent status bar with custom wallpapers

* the addition of Samsung Knox

* legibility setting for the display

The above mentioned update features and addons are a few that may have you Sprint Galaxy S4 owners licking your chops.

Keep in mind that this OTA update will most likely lock that boot loader back up!

If you’re in to rooting, hacking, flashing custom recoveries and Roms, I suggest you hold off on this update. This phone is popular enough that I can almost guarantee there will be a stock deodexed version of this ROM with in hours of one of your favorite devs getting their paws on it.

If hacking isn’t your thing, then get in to your settings and start mashing that update button, as its an OTA update and nothing to do with Kies. Once you’ve installed that update start moving them apps where they belong, on your SD card.

Vine app updated with front facing camera option

For all of you Vine heads that love to see your mug for a whole 6 seconds, the Vine app update for Android has made your life a whole lot easier. For anyone that’s been reading the reviews in the Play Store for the Vine app since its been released knows the biggest gripe was not having front facing camera support. Well… Now we do.

What does that mean? We get to see millions of kids faces screaming on a 6 second loop. Yayyyy!!!!

Quite the coincidence that Vine finally updated their app just after the Instagram 15 second video update. Vine has some competition up in here.

Update coming soon will allow Galaxy S4 owners to move apps to the SD card.

I think we all know the single biggest complaint for the Galaxy S4 is the amount of internal storage we get out of the box. Your 16 gig Galaxy S4 is advertised as having 16 gigs of internal storage, but we all know you really got a 9 gig Galaxy S4 with the other 7 gigs being hogged up by all the bells and whistles that Samsung threw in there. The bells and whistles are fine, but throw a couple Gameloft games on your shiny new toy and you’ll be running on E for storage.

Well, Samsung has begun rolling out an update to address this issue as we speak. The update will allow you to move those big apps, or even the small ones to your SD card. There are mods out there for rooted users that allows you to swap your internal and external storage with a few tweak’s. I’ve found too many bugs with this option on my Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Note 8, so this update is welcomed with open arms by me, many of you and even developers.

According to SamMobile, the update also brings some bug fixes, a semi transparent notification bar and an easy on and off toggle for Smart Pause. In my opinion, apps to SD is the king pin of this update.

The update is rolling out to German Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S4′s today, and will be coming to Exynos versions in the near future. US versions will likely have to wait for the update to be approved by the carriers, which could take god knows how long (I’m looking at you Verizon), but at least we know it’s coming.

Now Samsung! Let’s start looking at your other Note gadgets for the same type of update. I have a Galaxy Note 8.0 sitting in front of me with less than a gig of internal storage left after installing some of my favorite apps and some apps I forget why I even downloaded in the first place, but it would be nice to have an option in my application settings to move some, if not all to that beefy 64 gig class 10 SD card I have in it.

What do you all think? Are you OK with having 9 gigs of storage for your apps? Or, are you as excited as me to be able to move those hefty apps to your SD?

Let us know in the comments!

EStrongs File Explorer, easily one of the most robust file system management applications available in the Play Store, received a significant UI revamp and cloud integration with most of the major online storage services in this latest update to version 3.0.0.

The new UI cues off Google’s updated design recommendations and adds a fast access menu along the left edge to complement the previous version’s sliding controls that changed tabs from local to remote storage. Additional controls previously found in the settings menu are also located in the fast access menu as short cut icons.

What has set ES File Explorer apart from other file manager applications is the inclusion of multiple ways to access files on remote computers and devices in the same manner as they would be on local storage. The 3.0.0 update has also added a new tab dedicated to cloud services and serves as a launch pad for a full client experience for several of the more popular cloud based storage services.

From the developer:
ES File Explorer is a free, full-featured file and application manager.
It functions as all of these apps in one: file manager, application manager, task killer, cloud storage client (compatible with Dropbox, Google Drive, SkyDrive, Box.net, Sugarsync, Yandex, Amazon S3, and Ubuntu One), FTP client, and LAN Samba client.
It provides access to pictures, music, video, documents, and other files on both your Android devices and your computers
