After today morning’s leak of Android 4.3 I9500XXUEMJ5  for Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500, Samsung is officially rolling out Android 4.3 I9500XXUEMJ5 for the Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500.

To update your Galaxy S4 to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, connect your device to your computer and use Samsung KIES or  download and install the firmware via OTA, go to Settings > More > About Device > Software update > Update.

Below is the changelog as observed by sammobile:-

- OpenGL 3.0 Support
- TRIM Support (Makes the device much faster)
- ANT+ Support
- Samsung KNOX Implementation (KNOX bootloader and dedicated application)
- Samsung Wallet comes pre-loaded
- Improved RAM management
- Improved Display colour reproduction (Display looks much sharper than before)
- Improved TouchWiz Launcher (Much less launcher redraws and less lag)
- New Samsung Keyboard
- New Samsung Browser (Full screen by default, new tab interface and more)
- New Reading Mode (Optimises display for reading, used by only a few specific applications)
- New Camera firmware
- Minor UI tweaks (Contacts app, Flashlight Widget, dialog boxes etc)

Earlier today we reported that Oppo’s ColorOS has been ported to HTC One, well it has also been ported to the Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500. Standard installation instructions apply:-

-Download the ROM
-Wipe Data and Cache partitions.
-Flash the ROM using ClockworkMod
-Flash Gapps (Use the latest jb 4.2.2 version) – http://goo.im/gapps
-Root it by flashing SuperSU

Finally some good news for Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500 owners, we now have an unofficial CyanogenMod 10.2 build available for the Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500. The only issues with the build right now are camera’s don’t work, everything else including root are working.

With CyanogenMod team officially working on the S4 i9500 it won’t be long before we have a fully working CyanogenMod for the S4 i9500 and other AOSP roms to follow suit.

Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500 users have been waiting for this for a long time, it looks like their dreams will be fulfilled soon. CyanogenMod 10.2 just booted up on the i9500. We had done a small writeup on as to why the i9500 is not getting AOSP love but trust me we are as excited as you are with this news.

We all know Samsung makes it tough for developers by not releasing complete source code but you have some bad ass developers on Team CyanogenMod and yes they just did it. If you notice the version on the above picture is Android 4.3 so this is CyanogenMod 10.2 which just booted on the Galaxy S4 i9500. Let’s hope i9500 users get to play with CyanogenMod 10.2 and Android 4.3 soon.

CyanogenMod added official support for the International Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 last night. You can download the nightly builds here and of course nightly builds are not perfect and do have bugs.
