Some news for HTC Butterfly owners who are patiently waiting for Android 4.2.2 update. HTC India tweeted that Butterfly is receiving Android 4.2.2 JellyBean which includes Sense UI upgrade to 5.0.

HTC Butterfly received 4.2.2 JellyBean update only in few countries like Taiwan until now and it looks HTC is rolling the update in other markets too. HTC India says that announcement for other devices will come soon.

HTC is now rolling out Android 4.2.2 Jellybean update tp its previous flagship device – HTC Butterfly. Users in Taiwan started receiving the update and it will be rolled out of rest of world in coming days.

This much waited update brings Android 4.2.2 to the device including Sense 5 UI. Though some features of Sense UI are unique to HTC One, Butterfly update also includes majority of features including BlinkFeed.

Update is reported to be delivered in two packages – one to make the phone ready for the update and the other to actually update the device. Complete change log will appear soon. Let’s hope state·side variant of Butterfly – Verizon HTC Droid DNA also receives the update soon.

Though the sales and profit figures of HTC Corporation are not as optimistic as Samsung Electronic’s estimates released yesterday, it still managed to get $41.6 million (T$1.25 billion) in profits and $2.4 billion total revenue  based on unaudited figures for Q2 2013. These figures still pale over last year’s Q2 results, when the company earned $250 million on $3 billion in revenue.

However This is a considerable improvement over a mere $2.8 million profit last quarter from when shortage of camera components delayed HTC One launch in major territories.

Strong sales of HTC’s latest flagship Android smartphone HTC One and HTC Butterfly are major reasons accounted for profits this quarter.

Analysts said that expectations are not so high for Q3 2012 as HTC’s June sales dropped 25% compared to same period last year.

BNP Paribas, in a recent research note, said it expected overall third-quarter orders to remain flat from the second-quarter.

“HTC may have new products in Q3, but competition from Apple and other Chinese brands are fierce,” said Taipei-based analyst Peter Liao of Nomura Securities. “It’ll be hard to keep the growth.”

“The big drop on June sales likely proves the HTC One sales momentum slowdown and 3Q may be only flattish as is the market expectation,” Goldman Sacks analyst Michael Shieh said.

In past few weeks several HTC devices have been rumored to be in the works like HTC One Mini (M4), a HTC phablet (T6), and HTC Butterfly S.  Now HTC is announcing HTC Butterfly S and Desire 600 ( HTC One Mini or M4 ) in  a joint event on June 19th along with Taiwanese carrier Chunghwa Telecom.

As per rumors,HTC Butterfly S  a slight upgrade over the current Butterfly phone with the same 5″ 1080p screen, but an UltraPixel camera instead of 8 MP and higher capacity battery.

It seems Desire 600 is the much rumored device Htc One Mini codenamed M4, Major specs include 4.3 inch HD ,dual-core processor,  2GB RAM, Ultrapixel camera & equipped with front dual speakers, Android 4.2.2 with HTC Sense 5.

We need to wait until June 19th to see how these devices line up with current flagship device HTC One.

Sense 5 HTC Butterfly
