The Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 (WiFi only) is on sale today only for $99 at 1Sale.com. It is a refurbished device running Gingerbread 2.3.5 but there is plenty of development for it at XDA if you want to load up something else.

The device specs are a bit underwhelming compared to all the Snapdragon 600 and 800′s hitting the tech world right now but the 1GHz Exynos 3110 (Hummingbird) will be just fine for Monkey Preschool Lunchbox, Zoodles Kid Zone app or streaming a bit of Netflix. The screen is 5″ which is also more appropriate for smaller hands than a 10″ or even 7″ tablet. The Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 comes with 8Gb memory onboard and expandable to 32Gb via micro-SD card.
