Moto X Getting Some Wood This January

The  Moto X has been a bit of a cluster with just about everything from the release date of the Moto X, original exclusivity to AT&T for the first couple months, Cyber Monday confusion, and of course when we would be able to get the wooden back on the Moto X.

The bamboo back is the first wooden back Moto X available on Moto Maker. Once again there’s still some hoops to hop through to get your paws on some wood here. Although the bamboo back for the Moto X is available on Moto Maker, there’s going to be “delayed shipping” until January according to Motorola (a little late for a Christmas gift), and it’s also going to set you back an additional $100. Add the $100 for a bamboo back and the $100 for on contract pricing and you’re back up to a $200 phone on contract.

This is one of my favorite phones, but Motorola and Google should have done things a little differently at release date and maybe, just maybe this phone could have given the big dogs, Samsung and HTC, a run for their money (that’s a big maybe by the way). Hopefully the Moto X 2 will roll out a little more smoothly in 2014.
